Describe the job before comparing prices.
A lockout, rekeying an existing cylinder and fitting new hardware are different tasks. For several doors, specify the number of locks involved. For a vehicle, have the make, model, year and key situation ready.
The address, access arrangements, hardware condition and parts needed can affect an estimate. This site does not list a fixed starting price that may not apply to your job.
Ask what the total includes.
Clarify any visit or call-out charge, labor, parts, keys and applicable additional charges. Ask whether the quoted figure is an estimate or a confirmed price for a defined scope. If you are supplying a product, confirm whether it can be used.
For a car key, distinguish the cost of the blank or fob from cutting and programming where needed. For a door, ask whether preparation, removal of old hardware and the desired key arrangement are included.
Agree on changes before the work expands.
A telephone description cannot reveal every problem inside a lock or door. If inspection finds something different, ask for the finding, proposed solution and revised price to be explained before you agree.
When the work is complete, test the agreed functions and check which keys or doors were included. Keep the work details and any documentation provided. Call 857-322-5996 to discuss your situation and current availability.
